Prasidh Krishna leads Purple Cap race at IPL 2026 after four-wicket haul

The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) vs Gujarat Titans (GT) and Mumbai Indians (MI) vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) games on Sunday gave us performances that have changed things around in a big way on the IPL 2026 Orange and Purple Cap tables. Here's how things stand.

Zooming up to second place among the leading run-getters after his second half-century of the season and fourth impactful batting performance in four innings was Rajat Patidar, the RCB captain.

After scores of 31, 48 not out and 63, Patidar smashed 53 in 20 balls against MI to take his tally for the season up to 195 runs. That put him at No. 2, only behind Vaibhav Sooryavanshi of Rajasthan Royals (RR) and above Heinrich Klaasen of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).

Sooryavanshi's opening partner Yashasvi Jaiswal held on to the fourth spot, but up at No. 5 and only four runs behind Jaiswal was Virat Kohli, who also scored his second half-century on the night and now has a sequence of 69 not out, 28, 32 and 50.

And we have a new No. 1 on the top wicket-takers' table, and it's the Purple Cap winner from last season, GT's Prasidh Krishna, who now has ten wickets from four games.

Krishna returned 4 for 28 in GT's win over LSG on Sunday, and that took his haul for the season past the mark of RR's Ravi Bishnoi, who has nine wickets. Behind Bishnoi is Anshul Kamboj of Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

Up in fourth place were LSG's Prince Yadav and RCB's Jacob Duffy, who now have six wickets each.
