MI sign Mahipal Lomror and Ruchit Ahir as injury replacements

They replace Raj Angad Bawa and Quinton de Kock in the MI squad, while Rajasthan Royals replace injured Ravi Singh with Emanjot Chahal
Mumbai Indians (MI) have signed Rajasthan allrounder, Mahipal Lomror, and Saurashtra batter, Ruchit Ahir, as replacements. Lomror slots into the side in place of injured Quinton de Kock, while Ahir replaces Raj Angad Bawa.
Twenty-six-year-old Lomror is an experienced IPL player: he has played 40 matches, representing Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the past. Ahir, 25, has not played in the IPL before. He has played 12 T20 matches, for Saurashtra, scoring 333 runs at an average of 41.62 and a SR of 169.03.
De Kock was ruled out of the tournament after he sustained a tendon injury in his left wrist before MI's game against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on April 29. On the other hand, Bawa suffered a ligament tear in his right thumb, while playing against Punjab Kings (PBKS) last week.
Meanwhile, RR have signed left-arm spinner Emanjot Chahal as a replacement for Ravi Singh, who has been ruled out of the rest of IPL 2026. Ravi, a wicketkeeper-batter, is out with a hamstring injury. Chahal will join RR for INR 30 lakh.
Ravi, 24, was bought in the last auction for INR 95 lakh and played just one game in this IPL, when he batted at No. 6 for RR on his IPL debut against Delhi Capitals and scored 4 off 2.
Chahal, 21, is also a right-hand batter and represents Punjab in the domestic circuit. But he hasn't played an official T20 or a one-day game yet in senior cricket. In his three first-class games, Chahal has made 105 runs with a top score of 83 while also picking up 11 wickets. He made his first-class debut in October 2024 but played only one game in the previous Ranji Trophy season.
RR, currently placed fourth, play their last league game on Sunday afternoon, against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede. RR will book the last playoffs spot if they win.
