Shubman Gill Turns Uncle For Virat Kohli's Son Akaay In Viral Reel, His Comment Stumps Everyone

From Idol to Uncle: Gill's Light-Hearted Role Change Stumps Fans

Greetings, cricketing family. 🙏

There are bonds in this game that transcend the pitch—rhythms that resonate beyond the boundary rope. And none so beautifully as the one between the 'Prince', Shubman Gill, and the 'King', Virat Kohli. Gill has always spoken of Virat as his idol, his guru in the world of cricket. Yet, in a twist no one anticipated, Gill is now being called something far more intimate—'uncle'.

The Reel That Stumped Everyone

A comedic Instagram reel has swept the internet recently. In it, a content creator plays Akaay's (Virat's youngest son) school teacher. The scene: the 'teacher' instructs Akaay to bring both his high-profile parents—Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma—to school as punishment. Then comes the clever twist—blushing, the teacher adds, "and please bring your uncle Shubman Gill too."

Gill's Quick Wit, in the True Spirit of Brotherhood

What truly stumped us all was Gill's own comment, tagging Virat directly: "bhai dw I gotchu."

Brother, do not fret—I've got you.

In just five words, Gill captured the warmth and easy camaraderie that fans adore. The comment exploded across social media, with thousands praising the wholesome brotherhood between two of India's finest.

What Lies Ahead

Beyond the laughter, the two will soon share the dressing room once more—India's ODI side faces West Indies in a 3-match series commencing Sept 27. The Prince and the King, back on the same field, ready for the music of the match. 🏏

Share your thoughts below—does Gill deserve the 'uncle' title, or is he still young enough to be Akaay's playmate?
