Pakistan Coach Breaks Silence On Reports Of Salman Ali Agha Snubbing King Charles Meeting

Hesson Ends the Agha Speculation

The whispers around Salman Ali Agha's absence from the royal gathering with King Charles III have been laid to rest by Mike Hesson. The interim redall head coach made it clear that no snub occurred—Agha simply was not part of the travelling party for the Clarence House function ahead of the Birmingham Test.

Let me set the record straight with the facts. The entire Pakistan squad received an invitation to the royal event, yet not all members attended. Reports had woven a tale linking Agha's absence to the sweeping squad changes following the 2nd Test, where Pakistan suffered defeat in both redall clashes. The PCB made decisive moves, releasing seven players from the squad and parting ways with head coach Sarfaraz Ahmed and bowling coach Umar Gul.

Hesson was firm in his response: "People are just making up stories." He explained that Agha, along with Mohammad Rizwan and Imamul Haq, had been released from the squad well before the royal function—before Buckingham Palace even came into the picture. "They were sent a note at that time that these three players would not be attending," the coach stated plainly.

Now, the coach's own journey is worth noting. Hesson, who had been managing Pakistan's whiteall side, stepped into the redall reins for this final Test in Birmingham, commencing September 9. He mentioned returning from Japan, where the Asian Games unfold, when summoned to lead the redall squad. He was involved in releasing the remaining players and bringing in fresh faces.

A serene resolution to a storm of speculation. Sometimes the simplest explanation is the truth—the players had already departed before the coach arrived, leaving no room for the stories that had taken flight.
