"Made It Worse": England Great Accuses Mohsin Naqvi's PCB Of Making Pakistan A 'Laughing Stock'

"Made It Worse": Nasser Hussain Slams PCB for Turning Pakistan Into a "Laughing Stock"

Namaste, cricket family. Let me share a piece that's struck a chord with me—less about the runs on the board, more about the rhythm of respect that seems to have broken down.

Former England captain Nasser Hussain has joined the growing chorus criticising the PCB amid Pakistan's Test series vs England. Following last week's crushing 194-run defeat at Lord's, the board offloaded seven players plus management, including head coach Sarfaraz Ahmed. Now, it's reportedly planning strict action against Imam-ul-Haq and Mohammad Rizwan.

Imam faces accusations of faking an injury on Day 1 of the first Test (keeping him out of both innings), while Rizwan has drawn flak over discipline. In response to the mass sackings, ex-Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq has resigned as selector.

Hussain, speaking on the Sky Sports Cricket Podcast, offered a nuanced view: "I don't think after Headingley that the world was laughing at Pakistan." He insisted his Lord's critique—about the side not fighting back and India-Pakistan ties being one-sided—came from frustration, not mockery.

"What they have done now is make them a laughing stock. They have made it worse," he said.

On the Imam situation, Hussain questioned the PCB's High Performance Director Aaqib Javed going public: "I cannot believe how a director of high performance can go on telly... and throw a player under the bus. He is either injured or he is not." He urged the board to protect its players, calling the handling "ridiculous."

A troubling pattern here—when a great nation's board turns on its own, the music stops. The question remains: does public accountability heal, does it wound further?

What do you all think, community?
