Women’s Asia Cup: 'I Want To Do More For My Country,' Says Charani After Three-for Against Pakistan

Charani's Threefor Sends India Past Pakistan in Women's Asia Cup
Dubai International Stadium — Leftarm spinner N. Sree Charani picked up 3 wickets for 7 runs to help India skittle Pakistan out for a modest 55 in 18.1 overs, before the Men in Blue chased down the target in just 8.4 overs in a dominant seven-wicket win at the Women's Asia Cup on Saturday.
Ranked as the top T20I bowler, Charani's match-winning spell keeps India's tournament hopes firmly on track. Speaking post-match, she kept her focus on the bigger picture rather than her own milestone:
> "It's a great feeling to contribute to my team. I just try to give more revs on the ball, so that helps me every time."
Charani, who is now just shy of 50 T20I wickets, remained grounded about the impending milestone. "It will be special, but I need to continue and want to do more for my country."
Pakistan's Fatima fought hard in the powerplay with 3/17, dragging India back to 29, but it wasn't enough. She stayed positive about the team's path forward: "We lost the match, but we'll try to play good cricket against Hong Kong China on Monday and win our last match to progress to the finals."
India now turn their attention to Monday's clash with Hong Kong China as they push for a knockout spot.
