Women's Asia Cup: ‘Very Important To Stick To Our Strengths,’ Says Charani After India Beat Pakistan

India Stomp Pakistan in Women's Asia Cup as Charani, Rawat Dominate

India continued their winning streak against Pakistan in this year's Women's Asia Cup, bowling out the opposition for a mere 55 off 18.1 overs before chasing the target in just 8.4 overs for their fifth straight T20I win over their archrivals.

The pitches offered grip and sharp turn, and India's spinners exploited every bit of it. Charani and Prema Rawat led the attack with three wickets each—Charani returning figures of 37 from her four overs and Rawat finishing on 39. Together, the duo accounted for six of Pakistan's 10 wickets, repeatedly deceiving the opposition batters with flight, drift, and disciplined lengths.

Speaking to the BCCI, Charani stressed the importance of sticking to their strengths given the conditions. "It's crucial to stick to our strengths. If we follow that, then we will do well going forward," she said, while also praising Rawat's match-winning spell. "I didn't like her wicket, but I liked her celebration."

Charani also credited coach Avishkar Salvi for their preparation, noting how he guides the players in practice based on the situation.

Rawat, who also took three wickets, said building pressure in practice had helped her handle the international stage. She highlighted the importance of carrying this momentum forward into the next stage of the tournament.

Harmanpreet Kaur (18*) and Deepti Sharma saw India home without any further setbacks.
