Five wickets for six runs: Indian spinner destroys county opposition in eight-over spell

Sai Kishore's Eight-Over Demolition Sends Gloucestershire to Glorious 213-Run Rout

What a day at the County Ground in Bristol! Sai Kishore turned back the clock with spell after spell, pinching the spotlight in Gloucestershire's massive County Championship thumping of Derbyshire on Saturday.

The Spell That Ended Derbyshire's Dreams

Let me paint the picture for you, cricket lovers. Kishore, our left-arm spinner, ripped through Derbyshire's batting order in the second innings with figures of 5-20 in just 18 overs — and I'm not joking about that economy! Twelve maidens in there too. The maniac completed his five-for inside the first eight overs, letting down only six runs before the home side was reeling at 416 in the 15th over.

Harry Came, Matthew Montgomery, Wayne Madsen, Aneurin Donald, and Brooke Guest all fell to his magic, leaving Derbyshire's top seven in tatters. Oliver Price grabbed 3 wickets and Ed Middleton 2 wrapped it up, skittling the visitors for a mere 105 in 38.4 overs.

A Complete Performance All Day Long

But hold on — Kishore was far from done. He'd already taken 2 wickets in the first innings (Muhammad Naeem and Donald), finishing with 5-20 in 23 overs. And when the chips were down, he even contributed with the bat, scoring 20 and sharing a crucial 48-run seventh-wicket stand with James Bracey.

The Match That Unfrolled Like A Perfect Masala Dosa

Gloucestershire batted first and struggled, collapsing from 375 to 237. But then came the comeback of the century! Miles Hammond and James Bracey smashed centuries, declaring at 3595 and setting Derbyshire a staggering 319-run target.

Why This Win Matters

Kishore, now 29, has been a revelation this season — 13 wickets at 23.07 average and 69 runs at 34.5 strike rate. This victory snapped Gloucestershire's six-match losing streak, and if you ask me, this left-arm spinner is heating up for something big.

Now that's what I call a five-wicket haul worth savoring! 🏏
