Sai Kishore gives selectors another reminder of his talent with impeccable bowling in County Championship

Sai Kishore Turns Up the Heat onselectors with Match-Haul
Sai Kishore just sent a loud message to the Indian selection committee. The left-arm spinner tore through Derbyshire's batting order with a monstrous 5/20 from 18 overs (12 maidens) in the County Championship Division Two clash at Bristol on Sep 5, sending Gloucestershire past Derbyshire by 213 runs. Derbyshire were bowled out for a mere 105 while chasing 319.
His match figures? A towering 7/79 across both innings, having also taken 2/59 in the first. What makes it even more brutal: all 10 Derbyshire wickets in the second fell to spin. Kishore (5/20), Tom Price (3/59) and Middleton (2/17) ensured the visitors had no answer to the turn.
Kishore also proved useful with the bat, firing a gritty 20 off 39 balls (2 fours, 1 six) at No. 8 on Day 1 in a low-scoring first innings.
The Selection Question
Here's the sting. Despite a string of consistent first-class performances for Tamil Nadu, Kishore was overlooked when India named a left-arm spin duo of Harsh Dubey and Manav Suthar for the one-off Test vs Afghanistan. Suthar, meanwhile, has taken off like a rocket—7-wickets on debut vs Afghanistan (Player of the Match, India won by an innings & 300), and finished as the top wicket-taker with 16 scalps against Sri Lanka.
The message is clear: Kishore's domestic form keeps him in the conversation, but the selectors have a hot new name. Consistency alone may not be enough anymore.
