Nahid Rana unlikely to get NOC for Big Bash League amid Bangladesh commitments

BBL Dream Drying Up for Rana — Nahid Rana's Big Bash League move looks dead on arrival. Two franchises (Adelaide Strikers + a Melbourne club) want him, but the BCB isn't budging. BBL runs Dec 12–Jan 26, which collides head-on with a brutal international block. A BCB official dropped the truth: no official NOC request yet, and chances are very slim given our commitments.

Fitness still a factor. The 23yos fast bwl was ruled out of the Aus Test series with a Grade 2 side strain. Got back to bowling earlier this week — good sign, but workload is being managed tightly. He's also being kept out of the Asian Games (Sept 2026) to be safe.

The schedule killer. Here's the math that sinks his BBL hopes:

- Oct: Afghanistan series (UAE) — gradual rebuild

- Oct–Nov: WI 2-match Tests (WTC cycle)

- Nov–Dec: South Africa tour (2 Tests, 3 ODIs, 3 T20Is)

That SA tour bleeds straight into the BBL opener. No room. No NOC.

Net read? Rana's franchise breakout is on hold until at least next season, assuming the board prioritizes country over club. The Melbourne club hasn't been named.
