Deepti Sharma rises to sixth spot in ICC Women's T20I bowling rankings

Deepti Sharma Climbs to No.6 in ICC Women's T20I Bowling Rankings

Here's a player I've been tracking closely — Deepti Sharma has jumped two spots to No.6 in the latest ICC Women's T20I bowling rankings, updated Tuesday (Sep 8). As an investor in cricket markets, I always watch who's making sharp moves up the board.

The Catalyst: Her eight wickets across three matches at the Women's Asia Cup 2026 did the heavy lifting. India punched their ticket to the semifinals, and her consistent strike with the ball made her one of the tournament's most productive bowlers. That form was the direct trigger for the two-place climb.

The Landscape Above Her: Sree Charani sits top, with Sophie Ecclestone, Charlie Dean, Nonkululeko Mlaba and Lauren Bell filling the top five. Notably, Deepti is within 60 rating points of Charani — a tight margin that tells you a hot streak in upcoming T20I fixtures could close the gap fast.

The Context: She first hit No.1 in December 2025, so this No.6 isn't a freefall — it's evidence of sustained elite-level output. As a rightarm spinner, her regular wicket-taking in the shortest format keeps her locked in the top ten.

My Read: Players within 60 points of the summit are prime candidates for a top-two push. If she keeps this form, the No.1 spot isn't a distant fantasy — it's a matter of when. Keep an eye on her T20I workload over the coming weeks.
