ICC Rankings: Esterhuizen, Pretorius Make Big Gains After Tri-series Heroics

Rankings Jump: SA's Esterhuizen & Pretorius Shine After Triseries Heroics
The latest Men's T20I Batting Rankings dropped Wednesday, and South Africa's young guns are climbing fast.
The Big Movers:
Connor Esterhuizen—SA's righthanded opener—rocketed up a massive 65 places to 25th. He fired 126 runs across five innings in the triseries against Namibia and Zimbabwe, headlined by a brilliant 88 in the final group clash vs Namibia. At 25, this is just the start.
Teammate Lhuandre Pretorius (20) also surged, jumping 61 places to sit level 43rd after stacking 226 runs in four innings. Clinical finisher with a high ceiling.
Namibia's Progress:
Despite missing the decider, the Namibians made their mark. Captain Gerhard Erasmus moved 16 places to 55th, while opener Louren Steenkamp climbed 32 places to 73rd. Erasmus also rose to 8th in the allrounders' rankings (career-high rating) after 149 runs and 5 wickets in the tournament—a genuine all-round workload.
Bowling Spotlight:
Zimbabwe's Brad Evans was the standout quick, edging up to 22nd with 10 wickets at an avg of 15.80—that economy in T20I conditions is genuinely impressive. Skipper Sikandar Raza ticked up 2 spots to 27th in the bowling charts.
The Takeaway:
Tournament cricket clearly separates the emerging talent from the pack. Esterhuizen and Pretorius are the ones to watch—both young, both producing under pressure.
