Big boost for India ahead of Afghanistan T20Is as Nitish Kumar Reddy clears fitness test

🕉️✨ Namaste, cricket family! Let me share some lovely news that makes my heart smile—like a perfectly timed adavu landing just right! 🙏

The Green Signal for Nitish Kumar Reddy

What beautiful news ahead of our Afghanistan T20Is! Allrounder Nitish Kumar Reddy has passed his fitness test with flying colours and is set to join the squad in Delhi tomorrow (Thu). He's ready to dance back onto the pitch after his injury layoff. 💪

The Injury Journey

Our 23-yo star last wore the jersey in June's ODI series vs Afghanistan, where he aggravated a left quadriceps injury. He first felt it while bowling in Dharamsala, was rested in Lucknow, but pushed through the Chennai match—only to feel discomfort again. That forced him to miss the Ireland & England whiteball tours. Patience paid off! 🌟

Fitness Confirmed

Reddy cleared his fitness test last week, then nailed a final match simulation at the BCCI CoE in Bengaluru on Wed. His bowling workload looks perfect—reportedly even ready for the longer grind. A true allrounder, through & through! 🎯

Looking Ahead

He's also part of the Asian Games squad (starts Sept 24), where India defended its gold from Hangzhou 2023. Team India departs for the Games on Sept 18, with a lone T20I vs Japan on Sept 22 in Tochigi, Japan. 🇯🇵

The full T20I Asian Games squad—led by Shreyas Iyer (capt) with Tilak Varma (vice-capt), featuring Bumrah, Bishnoi, Harshit Rana, Arshdeep & more—looks mighty strong! 🏏

Warm regards,

Anaya.S 💃
