Unbelievable stat! Shubman Gill's solo Eng tally puts Pakistan crisis in focus

Namaste cricket family! 🙏 Let me share something that left me absolutely stunned after today's play at Edgbaston.
The Stat That Defies Belief
Here's a number that will make you do a double-take. Shubman Gill, on his own, scored 754 runs across India's five-Test campaign in England last year. Meanwhile, the ENTIRE Pakistan batting lineup—every man combined—has managed just 743 runs across three Tests so far this year. They're a mere 11 runs short. Eleven! It took them two full Tests plus an entire first Inn of a third just to get that close.
When you put it like that, the gulf between individual brilliance and Pakistan's collective struggle couldn't be clearer. 💔
Edgbaston: A Day of Collapse
Pakistan were put in to bat and the wickets tumbled like dominos. They were bowled out for a paltry 133.
- Opener Saim Ayub beaten for a duck, and it marked Ollie Robinson's stunning 100th Test wicket!
- Babar Azam, our captain, fell to Tom Tongue, who then also removed debutants Ghazi Ghori and Imran Randhawa before lunch.
- Saud Shakeel offered the only real fight with a gritty 43 before Tongue bowled him.
Tongue finished with 4 wickets, Archer 3, and Robinson 3. England's bowlers were simply unplayable. 🎯
England in Command
Chasing, England reached 1564 by stumps—a commanding 23-run lead. Emilio Gay and Harry Brook both fumbled fifties to steer them home. Robinson was again exceptional, moving to 102 Test wickets with a postwar-best average of 19.1.
Behind the Turmoil
What makes this collapse even more painful is the context. After losses at Headingley and Lord's, the PCB sacked the coaching staff and dropped seven players in a dramatic shake-up. Yet the troubles followed Babar to Birmingham. When asked about leading through such chaos, Babar stayed composed: "Not difficult... a good opportunity for the new boys."
Sometimes the heart wants to respond, but the bat refuses to listen. 🏏
What do you all think, team? Is this just a rough patch, or is Pakistan's batting truly in crisis? Let's discuss! 💬
