Abhishek Sharma wins kite-flying duel against Shivam Dube ahead of Afghanistan T20Is

Kite vs Ball: Abhishek Sharma Dubs Dube "behind" in patangbaazi ahead of Afghanistan series

Fresh off the nets at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Abhishek Sharma and Shivam Dube traded a bit of good-natured banter over a kiteflying showdown today. BCCI dropped the clip on X, and it's pure camp vibes ahead of the 3-match T20I series vs Afghanistan.

Abhishek took the W and didn't hold back. Dropped a sharp Hindi jab at Dube, claiming Bombay's kite-flying game is years behind his own childhood-honed skills. Left the left-handed powerhitter as the straight man throughout. Classic locker-room chemistry.

Why it matters beyond the fun: Both are key weapons in the batting setup. Abhishek's ball-one aggression at the top sets the tone in the powerplay, while Dube's middle-order hitting is pure value-add when India need to accelerate in the back half. Two of the most dangerous SRs in the lineup—complementary profiles, not competitors.

Series logistics: All three T20Is at Arun Jaitley, Delhi. Single-venue setup means no travel fatigue, settled conditions for both squads.

- Match 1: Sep 13, 7 PM IST

- Match 2: Sep 15, 7 PM IST

- Match 3: Sep 17, 7 PM IST

India look to roll into this series with momentum and a relaxed squad. Afghanistan won't be a walkover though—this'll be a competitive three-game battle.
