Women’s Asia Cup: Shafali Verma's 64, Deepti's Three-fer Help India Beat Bangladesh, Reach Final

Women's Asia Cup – India into the Final
Shafali Verma's quick-fire 64 and Deepti Sharma's 3-wicket haul guided India past Bangladesh by 40 runs to reach the Women's Asia Cup final.
First Innings
Asked to bat first on a slow, spin-friendly pitch, India posted 149/6 in 20 overs. After a shaky start (losing Smriti Mandhana for 2 in the 2nd over), Shafali took control. She was calculative, playing mostly in the 'V', and finished her 20th T20I fifty off just 40 balls with 7 fours and 3 sixes, including back-to-back maxes off Sultana Khatun. Richa Ghosh added a quick 21 off 16 balls before being stumped, and India finished one run shy of 150.
Bangladesh's fielding didn't help them either — Shafali was dropped twice and a simple runout chance was missed.
Second Innings
Chasing 150, Bangladesh never got going. After a slow 26-run opening stand, wickets fell at regular intervals. Deepti Sharma was the star with the ball (3/26), flanked by Shree Charani (1/14) and Prema Rawat (1/21). Bangladesh collapsed to 109/7 in their 20 overs, with Shorna Akter top-scoring for just 22.
A dominant India performance all round — they'll now chase the title on Sunday. 🏏
