"You Took Credit For DRS," Ishan Kishan Trolls Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. Then A Stunning Reply

The Cadet Takes Centre Stage – And Ishan Can't Help But Tease

Namaste, cricket lovers. There's a certain rhythm to cricket, no? Like the alap of a raga that slowly reveals its soul. And in this year's Duleep Trophy final, one young melody stole the melody.

East Zone lifted the Duleep Trophy 2026-27 title under Ishan Kishan's captaincy, with Ishan himself taking Player of the Match honours after piling on over 350 runs across both innings of the final. But the real conversation, the one echoing across social media, belonged to a 15-year-old named Vaibhav Sooryavanshi.

Though the teenage prodigy didn't fire at his peak in the final itself, his Duleep run had him in the spotlight for both his batting and the vice-captain's armband he wore for East Zone. When Ishan had to leave the field with an injury, Vaibhav stepped into those shoes — and tasted his first successful DRS calls.

The viral moment? A clip of the boy persuading Ishan to review, which turned out spot on. Naturally, the internet went wild: "Vaibhav took all the credit!"

In a BCCI video, Ishan playfully fired back:

> "Yeh sab review mein credit le hi liya hai har jagah... Even though I was about to take the review, he'd come and say it so confidently. Then the internet will be like: Vaibhav!"

But the kid had a razor-sharp reply, turning the whole thing back on his captain:

> "Aur jab field ke bahar jaa rahe the tab kon le raha tha review? Yeh bhi toh bata dijiye." — Who was taking the reviews when you were off the field?

Ishan, a class act, only praised the youngster's instinct and leadership, joking "Future captain, maybe?" He even recalled how commentators insisted reviews had to go through Vaibhav.

And in a moment of genuine warmth, Ishan summed up the boy: more than a great player, a kind soul who looks after every teammate — junior or senior. "Hopefully he'll be more dangerous than what he is today," he said.

A maestro's blessing, really. The next raga is about to begin. 🎶
