Should England players play more county cricket? Ireland series review & Lauren's injury scare

England Women Wrap Up Ireland Series — But Lauren's Injury Scare Steals the Spotlight

Just a quick update from the women's side of the game, cricket fans.

England have sealed the series against Ireland, but the conversation post-series has shifted to a couple of other things worth noting.

First, the availability of England players remains a talking point — the squad depth question that keeps popping up whenever we discuss the county circuit's role in player development. Are our national stars getting enough first-class minutes to stay match-fit through the season? Worth a debate.

Second, and more pressing, Lauren Winfield-Hill shared an update on her injury. She took a nasty blow to the throat during Yorkshire's Women's OneDay Cup clash against Hampshire, and she's speaking openly about how she's recovering. Good to see her proactive about it.

On the admin front, the ECB have made some appointments, with Leah Poulton stepping in as managing director of England women. Fresh leadership can bring fresh energy.
