Women's Asia Cup semi-final: Sri Lanka opt to bowl against Pakistan

Women's Asia Cup Semifinal: Sri Lanka Bowl First Against Fatigued Pakistan
Dubai International Stadium | Women's Asia Cup SF2
Rak dasan, cricket fans! 🏏 The second semifinal of the Women's Asia Cup has finally kicked off, and the defending champions Sri Lanka Women, led by the ever-capable Chamari Athapaththu, have won the toss and chosen to field. Pakistan are batting first, and already the pressure seems to be mounting on them!
Sri Lanka, Undefeated & Balanced:
The Sri Lankan side has looked sharp throughout this tournament, with some lovely contributions from Nilakshika Silva (that rescue fifty vs Indonesia) and Harshitha Samarawickrama's cool composure during a tense chase vs Bangladesh. They've already beaten Pakistan in a bilateral series last month (though Pakistan were without skipper Fatima Sana in that contest).
Pakistan Under Pressure:
Pakistan's run to this semifinal has been far less convincing—bowled out for just 55 vs India, and barely escaping Thailand with a modest 119/9. Their batting is the concern, with top-order pair Muneeba Ali and Shawaal Zulfiqar yet to fire. They haven't reached the Asia Cup final since 2016, so they need a major upgrade today!
Early Drama Already:
Pakistan started cautiously under Mithali Ayodhya's new-ball spell, but the squeeze told. Sugandika Kumari struck! Muneeba Ali got a cheap duck, mishitting a shot straight to Nilakshika Silva at mid-off (5/1 after 2 overs). Gull Feroza walked in, and Shawaal Zulfiqar has since taken the attack on, finding some breathing room with a couple of boundaries and a six.
Currently at 29/1 in 4.3 overs, with Zulfiqar looking to settle in. Sri Lanka will want to quickly wrestle back control!
Who do you think takes this one? 🤔 Let's discuss!
