4 Balls, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Kept On His Toes: Jasprit Bumrah's Brutal Net Session Goes Viral

Bumrah's Nets Leave Teen Sensation Sooryavanshi Speechless

The King's College lights were buzzing tonight as India's finest peacemaker, Jasprit Bumrah, returned to the nets with that familiar grin. And it seems the young gun Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, just 15 years old, got a front-row seat to what real pace and precision look like.

Four balls, and the master craftsman asked some serious questions. First one pitched up nicely—Sooryavanshi jabbed and missed completely. Second at the same length, the boy hurried as it slipped past his bat. Third was a textbook yorker, dug out by pure reflex. Fourth, slightly back of length, netted a healthy nick.

Four deliveries and Bumrah gave a preview of the torment Sooryavanshi might face against elite pace attacks at the highest level.

But it wasn't all doom for the youngster. One slightly over-pitched delivery got punished through the covers—a glimpse of that cover-drive elegance we've come to love.

The fielding drills weren't kind though. At least three aerial catches went missing, and against the broader pacers, it was play-and-miss galore. Yash Thakur (fresh from some rough treatment in the Duleep Trophy semis) and Arshdeep Singh (with that nasty seam movement) both got under his skin too.

Yet, as always, one man owned the room. Bumrah bowled a few to skipper Shreyas Iyer, beating him for pace on both inside and outside edges. The pace, the swagger, the serene smile of a man utterly at home with his craft.

The Kotla felt lighter, happier, simply because he's back.
