India Get Big Warning From Sri Lanka Ahead Of Women's Asia Cup Final: "Can Beat Any Team"

Namaste, friends. Let me share a piece of cricketing news that resonates with me—there's a rhythm to it, a tempo building toward the final crescendo.

Sri Lanka Send Message to India Ahead of Asia Cup Final

Sri Lanka's skipper Chamari Athapaththu has issued a quiet but confident warning before this Sunday's Women's Asia Cup final against India. After their semifinal clash, the defending champions made clear they believe they can beat any team on the pitch.

Their route to the final came through a 4-wkt win over Pakistan, chasing down 131. It wasn't easy—APT lost early along with Sanjana Kavindi and Hasini Perera, the lads falling within the first six overs. But this is where the young batting group showed their true mettle.

The Partnership That Turned the Tide

Harshita Samarawickrama (36) and Kavisha Dilhari (33) absorbed the pressure with the composure of seasoned veterans. Their 67-run stand shifted the momentum, and under pressure, that partnership proved matchwinning. Nilakshi de Silva and Kaushani Nuthyangana then closed it out with eight balls to spare.

APT's Words of Confidence

"We have good finishers like Harshitha, Nilakshika, Kavisha," APT said. "Even the bowling unit is doing well. If we execute our plans in the final, I think we can beat any team."

She praised the young batters' approach—taking singles, playing smart under pressure—while noting there's room for improvement in the fielding department, where a couple of catches were dropped.

Sri Lanka now head into their second consecutive Asia Cup final, facing India at Dubai International Stadium on Sunday. A challenging task, but a team finding its rhythm at just the right time.
