'They've unearthed a gem' - Michael Vaughan showers praise on Razaullah after sensational Test debut

Razaullah Steals the Show on Test Debut — Vaughan Calls Him "a Gem"

What a day at Edgbaston. 21-year-old Razaullah announced himself to the world with a lightning 81 off 63 on his Test debut vs England — nine sixes, pure fire. Pakistan were still trailing by 320 after being bowled out for 133 in their first innings (England posted 453), but this young AR turned the game on its head.

He latched onto a gritty 121-run ninth-wicket stand with Mohammad Abbas (42) to drag the match into Day 4. England now need just 130 to win and sweep the series 3-0. Razaullah was eventually clean-bowled stumped off Dan Lawrence, but he didn't stop at the bat — he also picked up 4 wickets, including the prized scalp of England skipper Joe Root.

The Numbers That Matter:

- Nine sixes = equaled Tim Southee's record for most sixes on Test debut

- Most sixes ever by a No. 9 batter in Test history

- Ball-to-run ratio that would make any fund manager smile

Former England cap Michael Vaughan wasn't holding back on BBC TMS: "They've unearthed a gem. He'll be a superstar for many years." Even he, backing England to win, admitted Pakistan's fight pulled the game back from the brink after weeks of internal turmoil.

Vaughan Takes a Dig at England's Tactics:

The Ex-captain wasn't all praise for the hosts though. He fired arrows at England's fielding and bowling calls on Day 3 — the short spin overs, the second new ball left with the spinner. "That day will make the England team realise there's a long way to go to be world-class," he said.

England still sit on top needing 130, but after this debut? Nobody's sleeping on Razaullah anymore.
