Rahul Dravid picks MS Dhoni as best captain, chooses Imran Khan over Virat Kohli

Dravid's Verdict: Dhoni Tops the Captaincy Bracket, Kohli Out to Imran Khan

Rahul Dravid just dropped his pick for cricket's greatest captain, and it's MS Dhoni. He ran through a winner-take-all bracket on Cricinfo's YT channel, pitting legends from every era and nation against each other. Final call beats out Imran Khan and Clive Lloyd.

Here's how the bracket played out — the eliminations were brutal:

- Dravid backed Steve Smith over a stacked group (Stokes, Williamson, Ranatunga, G.Smith, Fleming, Clarke, Morgan, Cummins). Solid record — 62 wins in 117 games — but Ponting ended his run.

- Ponting was a machine — 220 wins in 324 matches, 2 WC titles, 1 CT — but Border then knocked him out.

- Steve Waugh disposed of Ponting, then Kohli dispatched Waugh. Kohli's own line: 135 wins in 213 games.

- Short-lived run though. Imran Khan walked in and Kohli was gone.

- Final: Dhoni over Imran Khan, then Dhoni over Lloyd. Crowned the GOAT.

For those tracking the numbers going in: Ponting's win ratio was elite, Kohli's was strong but below Dravid's final preference, and Smith's was solid but not enough against the Australian heavyweights.

Net read: Dravid clearly values match-winning temperament over pure win-percentage. His final two picks (Dhoni, then Imran) suggest he weights leadership under pressure higher than aggregate records. Worth noting he didn't even go to the highest statistical producer in the bracket.

Classic Dravid — measured, systematic, and unafraid to go against the grain. 👑
