‘We Need To Sit Down And Analyse Our Mistakes’: Babar After Pakistan’s 3-0 Test Whitewash

Babar Calls for Honest Aftermath as Pakistan Suffer 30-Test Whitewash vs England
Pakistan's Test side has been left reeling after England completed a comprehensive 30 Test series sweep, sealing the final Test with an eight-wicket win at Edgbaston on Saturday. Skipper Babar Azam hasn't sugar-coated it—telling the group they need to sit down and analyse our mistakes before deciding on a best-fit playing XI.
What went wrong
Pakistan were bowled out for under 200 in both innings of the opening two Tests before showing real resistance in the finale, posting 449 in their second innings. The batting finally fired: debutant Razaullah stole the show with an explosive 81 off 63 (six nine-sixers) after taking 4 wkts with the ball, while Shan Masood (95), Babar (76) and Azam Awais (59) gave England a modest 130-run target.
But England's composure killed it. Joe Root (62*) and Jordan Cox (59) shared an unbeaten 128-run stand, and despite Mohammad Abbas removing two batters in the opening over, the visitors never really looked threatened.
Babar on the selection question
He was candid that changes mid-series didn't help—Pakistan made several pickups after the first two losses as the batsmen struggled against the new-ball movement. "When we come to England, it's very difficult for the batsmen, and the first two pitches are very tough," he said, adding that the management, selectors and he now need to sit and pick the best eleven.
He also backed young Razaullah, calling him "raw talent... good for us" despite limited first-class experience.
WTC fallout
The whitewash drops Pakistan further down the WTC table—PCT sliding from 16.67% to 14.81%, now docked 8 pts for slow overrate with just two wins.
From a sports-medicine lens, the workload on that all-round debut (4+81) is worth watching closely—the kind of burst performances we see repeatedly in fast bowlers who then pay the price later in a tour.
