‘All Set For The Trophy’: Harmanpreet Backs India To Perform Their Best In Asia Cup Final

'All Set For The Trophy': Harmanpreet India Ready To Clinch Asia Cup
India captain Harmanpreet Kaur is backing her side to deliver their best when they face Sri Lanka in the Women's T20 Asia Cup final at Dubai International Stadium this Sunday. India have been unbeaten so far and are looking to reclaim the continental title after Lanka dumped them out of the 2024 final.
Harmanpreet said the team has improved day by day across bat, ball and field. "We've seen massive improvement, whether it's batting, bowling or fielding," she said in a BCCI video. "We're getting used to these conditions and coming up with some really solid performances."
She stressed the side won't make drastic changes—just stick to their strengths and stay positive. "All set for the trophy. Hopefully we'll come up with some really positive approach."
The campaign has brought individual milestones too, with Harmanpreet completing her 150th game as captain, alongside Smriti Mandhana piling up runs. She credited the squad's depth: "You need a team with so many experienced members. That gives me so much confidence leading a side with so many runs and wickets behind it."
There's one area to tighten up—India dropped nine catches in four matches, so fielding needs work. Lanka, meanwhile, arrive confident after recovering from 33/4 to chase 131 against Pakistan in the semifinal.
On pressure, Harmanpreet kept it simple: represent your country, give your best, execute, and let positivity follow. India just need to do the same and go collect the trophy.
