Wisden's Women's Asia Cup 2026 – Team Of The Tournament 🏏
India lifted the Women's Asia Cup 2026 with a commanding 72-run win over Sri Lanka in the final – a record-extending 8th title for the team. Here's Wisden's XI of the tournament:
Top-order fireworks
Shafali Verma was the standout batter and top rungetter, finishing with 236 runs at a blistering SR 171.01, including a match-winning 68 off 39 in the final. She also added 2 wickets with her off-spin. Smriti Mandhana smashed the only century of the tourney (124 vs Hong Kong), breaking multiple world records, though three run-outs limited her tally. She wrapped it up with a quick 59 in the final.
Sri Lanka's twin threat
Chamari Athapaththu may have managed just 99 with the bat, but she was devastating with the ball – 12 wickets including a phenomenal 7/5 vs Indonesia (featuring a hat-trick, the best T20I figures among Full Members). Harshitha Samarawickrama steered SL to the final with a clutch 36 in the semifinal chase.
Bowling magic from across the park
Fatima Sana (Pakistan) was a class act as all-rounder – 47* in the semifinal plus 9 wickets. Nashra Sandhu produced Pakistan's best-ever T20I figures – 6/7 vs Hong Kong. For India, Deepti Sharma was the leading wicket-taker with 14 scalps at an incredible 4.21 avg, while Shree Charani was often unplayable, the most economical bowler (Eco 3.65) with 12 wickets. Young quick Nandani Sharma struck consistently with the new ball.
Others in the XI
Bangladesh's Sobhana Mostary marshalled the middle-order well (95 runs), Marufa Akter drove her side to the semifinal with 8 wickets including a career-best 3/21, and Harshitha rounds out this stellar group.
A tournament full of record-breaking spells and match-winning knocks – the future of women's cricket is in safe hands! 💛
