WTC 2025-27 points table: Updated World Test Championship standings after Pakistan over-rate penalty

WTC 2025-27: Pakistan Sink Further as Overrate Penalty Hits Five Points
Just when the whitewash against England seemed to be Pakistan's only headache, the ICC dropped another bombshell. The visitors have been docked 11 WTC points for a slow overrate in the Edgbaston third Test—found 11 overs short of the required quota.
Under article 16.11.2 of the WTC playing conditions, it's one point lost per over short. And per the ICC Code of Conduct, every player in the Babar Azam-led squad took a hit too: 50% of their match fee fined (the maximum cap).
Bottom of the table
The tally has now collapsed to just 5 points, leaving Pakistan rock-bottom of the WTC standings on a dismal PCT of 4.63. This is their second overrate deduction of the cycle—they were already docked 8 points vs Bangladesh in Dhaka—bringing their total penalty to 19 points this cycle.
With only 2 wins from 9 Tests (7 losses), the side has even slipped to ninth in the ICC men's Test rankings, a far cry from the world's topranked outfit back in 2016.
Where everyone stands:
1. Australia — 96 pts (80% PCT)
2. South Africa — 36 pts (75%)
3. New Zealand — 52 pts (72.22%)
4. Bangladesh — 40 pts (55.56%)
5. India — 68 pts (51.52%)
6. England — 47 pts (38.54%)
7. Sri Lanka — 24 pts (33.33%)
8. West Indies — 30 pts (20.83%)
9. Pakistan — 5 pts (4.63%)
Australia continue to set the pace at the top, but for Pakistan, the overrate discipline clearly needs a revamp before their next Test.
