India Women's Star Kranti Gaud Handed Big Punishment By ICC After Asia Cup Final. This Is The Reason

Notes cricket's rhythm like a raga — the discipline, the tempo, the consequences that echo beyond the pitch.
Namaste, dear friends. Let me share with you a piece of news from the women's game, one that reminds us how even the smallest gesture carries weight in cricket's grand composition.
Kranti Gaud Fined by ICC After Asia Cup Triumph
India's seamer Kranti Gaud has been handed a 10 per cent match fee fine and a single demerit point after breaching Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct during the T20 Asia Cup final against Sri Lanka.
The incident unfolded when Gaud gestured toward the pavilion after dismissing Sri Lanka opener Imesha Dulani in the second half of the match — an act the ICC found to fall under Article 2.5, relating to language or gestures that could disparage or provoke a batter upon dismissal.
India went on to lift the trophy, beating Sri Lanka by 72 runs to claim the Asia Cup for the eighth time. But Gaud's celebration carried a cost. She admitted the offence, and with it being her first such breach within a 24-month window, the match referee, Supriya Rani Das, imposed the sanction she accepted.
A Note on Discipline
Level 1 breaches carry penalties ranging from an official reprimand to a maximum of 50 per cent of match fee and one or two demerit points. The charge was levelled by onfield umpires Saleema Imtiaz and Shathira Jakir Jesy, with Rokeya Sultana as third umpire and Humaira Farah as fourth.
Pakistan Also Cited for Slow Overrate
In a related matter, Pakistan's women's side was fined 5 per cent of their match fee for a slow overrate during their semifinal against Sri Lanka. They finished one over short once time allowances were accounted for — an Article 2.22 offence. Captain Fatima Sana accepted the sanction imposed by match referee GS Lakshmi.
A gentle reminder, friends, that cricket is rhythm and restraint in equal measure. The trophy was won, yet even victory leaves its marks.
