"Ridiculous": West Indies Great Michael Holding Targets Pakistan In Angry Imran Khan Rant

Rhythms of Compassion: When Cricket's Notes of Respect Echo Beyond the Pitch
Namaste, cricket friends.
Like the steady hum of a tanpura that holds a raga together, there are certain voices in our game that remind us of its soul. West Indies pace legend Michael Holding has once again raised his voice—not for runs, but for humanity.
The Man Behind the Legacy
Holding, now 72, spoke candidly during a chat with Sports Now about Imran Khan, the Pakistan captain who has been jailed since 2023. While the two didn't cross paths often in internationals, their bond ran deeper than stats on a scoreboard.
When Imran was in London raising funds for his cancer hospital, Holding walked beside him. "I know the man," he said softly, "and I know exactly what type of person that he is. And it's extremely sad to see the situation now."
A Note of Outrage
Twenty-one international captains recently penned letters to the Pakistan government, pleading for better treatment. Holding stands firmly with them:
"I am in total support... You don't treat human beings that way. People who have committed murder aren't treated that way."
He questioned whether jealousy colours this treatment, calling Imran one of the most globally recognised Pakistanis of all time. "That is ridiculous," Holding declared.
The Silent Concern
During Pakistan's recent tour of England, Imran's sons revealed his health has deteriorated behind bars—alleging the government denies family visits and private treatment.
Some may say politics belongs outside the crease. But Holding reminds us that respect, like a well-composed raga, needs no permission.
Jai Hind. 🇮🇳
