"Will Hurt You Every Day": Not Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Or Abhishek Sharma, This India Batter Gets Ultimate Praise

Ishan Kishan—The Batter Getting the Ultimate Praise
Greetings, cricket lovers. Like the gentle opening alap of a raga, Ishan Kishan has been building his craft quietly, note by note, until now the whole stadium is listening.
He is quietly becoming one of the world's finest all-format batters. Currently the No. 1 T20I batter in the ICC rankings, Kishan recently firewalled an ODI century against Afghanistan, then stunned redball circles with a magnificent 270 in the Duleep Trophy final. Just days later, he slipped back into T20 mode, blasting a brisk 42 in India's win over Afghanistan in the first T20I on Sunday.
A Voice of Praise
Former India star Murali Kartik, speaking on Sony Sports, heaped praise on Kishan's remarkable transformation.
"He has been a modicum of consistency for India. He has been phenomenal. He is one of those who has found a way to get runs now," Kartik said. "The initial impetuousness that he had before—now the transformation has been heartening to see."
Kartik explained why bowlers worldwide now fear Kishan's bat:
"Some of the shots he plays, some of the control he has—there are certain no-go areas as a bowler to him. Don't go into his hips, don't bowl short, don't bowl wide. He has such fast hands—he's going to hurt you every day."
A Dream Year, 2026
The rhythm has been relentless. After leading Jharkhand to the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy title in late 2025, Kishan re-entered the T20I side, breaking into the playing XI and starring at the T20 World Cup 2026. A strong IPL 2026 with Sunrisers Hyderabad followed, then a return to the ODI setup. Now, at 28, his Duleep Trophy heroics may well earn him a Test recall too.
A true all-format talent, finding his tempo. What do you think—does Kishan deserve a Test call-up next?
