Sydney Sixers sign Alice Capsey for 2026 WBBL

Sixers land Capsey ahead of WBBL|12
Sydney Sixers have moved on Alice Capsey, locking in the 22-yo England all-rounder on a 1yr deal for WBBL|12. She's leaving the Renegades to join a Sixers side that's clearly rebuilding its identity post-Healy retirement.
The numbers don't lie: 1,053 Intl T20 runs, 6 fifts, and real franchise chops with Birmingham Phoenix, Delhi Capitals and MI London. GM Rachael Haynes called her "capable of defining matches" — and honestly, the data backs that up. She's a genuine match-defining bat at this level.
Why the switch? Not her first WBBL rodeo — she's played for the Stars and Renegades before, so Australian conditions aren't new to her. This is a franchise move, not a debut. New head coach Peter Clarke is clearly building something different under his banner.
Squad picture: Three overseas slots filled — Capsey, compatriot Sophia Dunkley (re-signed), and NZ's Melie Kerr. With Healy gone, the Sixers are stacking depth at the top of the order.
My read: This is a calculated play by the Sixers front office. Capsey brings left-hand bat balance and genuine power-hitting ability. If she plugs into the middle order, she's a real differential asset. Worth watching how Clarke deploys her.
WBBL|12 kicks off soon — this signing tells you the Sixers aren't playing around.
