Sanju Samson Silences Critics, Carries India To Dominant Victory Over Afghanistan In 2nd T20I

Sanju Samson's lightning 57 silences his critics as India cruise to a commanding seven-wicket win over Afghanistan in the 2nd T20I, sealing an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.
The scene was set at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi on Tuesday, with captain Shreyas Iyer electing to bowl first. India's bowling unit, led by the fiery spell of all-rouder Nitish Kumar Reddy (3/24), held Afghanistan to a modest 159/8. Reddy made an immediate impact, removing Afghan captain Ibrahim Zadran (37) with his very first ball. Arshdeep Singh (2/35) and Jasprit Bumrah (1/25) provided excellent support, while Rashid Khan (3 wickets) was Afghanistan's lone bright spot in a disciplined Indian display.
Chasing a modest 160, India's openers Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma turned on the heat, racing to 82/0 after the powerplay. Samson was particularly devastating, smashing three fours and a six in the fifth over alone. Though Rashid Khan struck twice in the seventh over to remove both openers, the foundation was already rock solid. Samson depatured with a stunning 57 off just 22 balls, while Abhishek contributed a brisk 39 off 19. Ishan Kishan (38*) and Tilak Varma (15*) finished the job comfortably, with India reaching 163/3 in 14.5 overs.
The series is now over before it truly began, with India taking a 2-0 lead. Samson's aggressive approach vindicates those who questioned his role, while India's bowling depth—six different bowlers featuring—signals a well-oiled machine ready for the business end of the campaign.
