2nd T20I: ‘We Need To Bring That Intent’, Says Zadran As He Admits To India Challenge After Series…

Zadran Owns Up: Afghanistan's Powerplay Woes Cost Them Again vs India
New Delhi, Tue — Afghanistan skipper Ibrahim Zadran didn't sugarcoat it after the 2nd T20I at Arun Jaitley Stadium. His side collapsed once more in the powerplay, failing to post a competitive total and slipping to another series defeat against India (now 2-0 up).
The Same Old Problem
Top of the order again stuttered, letting India's bowlers control those first six overs. Zadran admitted the team had talked a big game about aggressive intent after Game 1, but couldn't back it up on the field.
"We didn't play well in the powerplay... they put pressure on us. I'm giving credit to their bowlers," he said.
The Plan That Didn't Happen
The dressing room goal was clear: push past the 150-160 mark and chase 200+. The message was simple—if you can fire to 60+ with intent in the powerplay, no problems. But Afghanistan simply didn't apply it again.
The Bigger Issue
Zadran flagged a structural problem: this was only Afghanistan's second T20I of the year. With so few games under their belts, building rhythm against elite opposition is a real struggle. He's banking on more game time to fix the glitch.
What's Left
India leads the 3-match series 2-0. The decider is the final chance for Afghanistan to respond—and for Zadran to prove that intent actually sticks.
