India squad for Windies series: Will Jadeja make an ODI return?

India's ODI XI Dilemma: Jadeja's Return, Pandya's Fitness & Pant's Lifeline 🏏
Selectors head into a busy Wednesday meeting as most of India's first-choice ODI players are tied up at the Asian Games, with injuries piling up too. The 3-match home series vs West Indies kicks off Sept 27.
The Jadeja Question 🤔
Big decision on whether to revive Ravindra Jadeja's whiteball career. Axar Patel's off to Asian Games duty, and Harsh Dubey's injured—leaving a spin-bowling all-rounder gap. Washington Sundar's also in Japan. Team management would rather move on—Jadeja's bowling economy's been suspect—but the availability crunch might force their hand.
Pandya's Timing ⏳
Tricky call on Hardik. CoE report says he should be match-fit from Sept 20, and he's already in the India 'A' squad vs Australia 'A' (starts Oct 6). But Hardik himself doesn't want to rush back until he can bowl a full 10 overs. Reddy & Dube are also headed to Japan, with Shedge nursing an injury.
Pant's Opportunity 🙌
Selectors keen to give Rishabh Pant another ODI lifeline since Ishan Kishan's at the Asian Games. Competition comes from Dhruv Jurel—but as one BCCI source noted, Pant's got the game vs pace & bounce, ideal prep for the upcoming SA tour, plus more experience.
Who'd you pick in the squad? Let's discuss! đź’¬
