Vinayak Samant takes over as Chandigarh head coach ahead of Ranji Trophy opener

Vinayak Samant takes the head coaching reins at Chandigarh across all formats — a value-add buy given his Mumbai pedigree. Big call facing our own squad on Oct 11 at Wankhede, though. Their last season was a distressed asset: 1 win from 7 games. Samant's track record with Bihar winning the Plate double is solid, but this opener is a high-risk fixture. 📈💰
